There are many benefits to living in the El Dorado Hills area, and one of the biggest ones is the sheer beauty of the environment. This is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, with tons of amazing trails where you can hike, bike, jog, or otherwise soak up the sun.
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or you’re looking to explore a new hobby, we encourage you to check out some of our favorite trails in the El Dorado Hills area. Great Hikes Near El Dorado Hills
Here are a few of our favorite places to get exercise and fresh air in and around El Dorado Hills.
- Red Bank to Brown’s Ravine Trail. Clocking at just under five miles, this scenic dirt trail starts at a picnic table/rest area and takes you through the most exquisite parts of the hillside.
- Darrington Trail. This Folsom-area favorite provides you with some truly stunning views of the lake, though we’ll warn you that this is a bit of a longer trail.
- Monte Vista and New York Creek Trails. Some of our favorites for families and for intermediate-level hikes. You’ll see incredible lakeway views, gorgeous vistas, and much more.
- Sweetwater Trail. At five miles exactly, this is a great option for anyone seeking a moderate-intensity hike and some unforgettable views of nature at its finest.
- Old Salmon Falls Bridge. A nice, relatively easy hike (about 2.5 miles) where you’ll get to walk by the water, over bridges offering spectacular views, and more.
- Stefani Trail. You can complete this pleasant hike in just over an hour and 15 minutes, making it a pretty good option for beginners.
- Mormon Island-Brown’s Ravine Trail. At about 10 miles, this is a slightly more strenuous pick, but one that’s no less scenic.
